How does pricing work?

How does pricing work?

All Atlassian Marketplace apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for our cloud apps is as follows:

  • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are free.

  • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user.

Annual subscriptions may offer a discount depending on the number of users purchased.

How Can I Calculate the Exact Pricing?

Pricing information for all apps is publicly available. To determine the cost for your Confluence instance, simply enter the user count at the following links:

Can I only be billed for the number of users who use the product?

Atlassian currently requires the purchase of Marketplace Apps for your entire user base, which means you will be charged for each Confluence user. We understand that this policy can be concerning, especially if only a small number of users actively utilize the product. To address this, we have structured our pricing tiers to account for inactive users, making higher user tiers significantly more affordable. This results in only a few additional cents in costs for each extra user.

What counts as a user?

To find out the total number of users you will be billed for, navigate to the Confluence Administration and click on “User Management.” There, you will see the exact count of “active users,” which is the figure that will determine your charges.

Please note: Guest users and anonymous users do not count towards your billing!

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Yes. Academic, community, and open source licenses are available to qualifying organizations. See Atlassian’s FAQ for more information: Atlassian Purchasing and Licensing FAQ | Atlassian.
